Meet The Team
Jeff Thompson
President/Owner
Throughout his 40-year career in the gas and oil industry, Jeff has gained experience from production to customer delivery and everything in between. Beginning in 1980 in pipeline construction, he has also served as a well tender, residential serviceman, measurement technician for transmission and industrial accounts, and equipment technician. He established Natural Gas Equipment Services in 2002 with the purpose of providing many types of equipment services at one location for customer convenience, and specialized field services to meet the requirements of regulatory agencies.
Drew Wharton
Operations Manager
Starting at NGES in 2016, Drew performed various field maintenance tasks such as line leak surveys, line marking, and curb box location in the summers. He graduated from Bowling Green State University with a major in Organization Communications and Marketing in 2019 and began full time. As operations manager he is responsible for managing new business development, seeking various streamline process improvements within the company, compliance/maintaining company policies, and oversight of field services.
Jeff Miller
Senior Field Operations Mechanic
Jeff attended Clemson University and has been a mechanic for over 30 years in many different industries. Starting at NGES in 2016, he has taken on the role as senior field operations mechanic. Jeff is responsible for crew oversight and efficient completion of all contracted field services. Jeff holds a long list of Operator Qualifications and completes all tasks above and beyond our customer’s satisfaction.

Natural Gas Equipment Services is a service center for meters and equipment used in the natural-gas industry, providing quality service to gas utilities and producers throughout the United States.
Since 2002, we've been providing natural gas measurement solutions and field services, our expertise in gas measurement has grown in scope to include the full distribution of meters, instruments, accessories, fittings, valves and support services.
Our traditional services include:
- we provide calibration and repair services on many manufacturers' products, including Heath, MSA, TIF, Roots/Dresser, Druck, Heise, and Bacharach to name a few.
- Call for pricing; we will beat or match competitors' prices.
- Fast turnaround times - in most cases, within a week, unless out-of-stock parts are needed.
- When applicable, all calibrations are certified NIST-traceable and a certified report is provided
- Cosmetic cleaning is standard with all our services

PIPELINE MISSION
